Sleep Party People's eponymous' debut album is out in Denmark. So far to rave reviews. "One of the weirdest and most beautiful releases in a long long time" says national paper Berlingske http://www.berlingske.dk/musik/kanin-med-hugtaender
A 'crystal clear and impressive debut' says Gaffa http://gaffa.dk/anmeldelse/36696
KRISTIAN LETH MAKES VIDEO FOR FRIEND BAND EFTERKLANG
Bosses - 30.01.2010
Official info:
A music video for the song Modern Drift by the Danish band Efterklang. Made by Kristian Leth (lead singer in The William Blakes).
The new music video is based on Dyrehaven, den Romantiske Skov, a film from 1970 by the acclaimed artists Per Kirkeby and Jørgen Leth (Kristian’s father). The film geek will know that the album title Magic Chairs draws on inspiration from another film by Jørgen Leth.
Modern Drift is the opening song on Efterklang third studio album. Magic Chairs will be released on February 22nd 2010 on Efterklangs own Rumraket label in Scandinavia and on 4AD outside of Scandinavia.
When The William Blakes visited Canada in early October they played a handful of gigs in three cities in 4 days and made a lot of new friends. The reaction over there was far beyond any expectations and the interest from blogs and magazines was unanimously positive.
Here are some highlights:
Paste Magazine: "The band's first stateside single, "Secrets of the State," is an endlessly catchy '80s pop blast that could've owned early MTV." http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2009/10/the-william-blakes-name-debut-album-wayne-coyne.html

Finally - after nearly a year and a half - Baron Criminel's debut album will be released. Baron Criminel is the brain child of William Blakes' front man Kristian Leth.
He calls the music voodootronics, and it sounds like a party with a vengeance. This music is about the trance and the trancendence and logically the album is called 'Rapture'.
Our label-mates at Discograph are giving Are We Brothers? the royal treatment these days. The boys played a monster show yesterday at Nouveau Casino (see pics, more below) and also did a crisp acoustic set in a Parisian park.
Press the link below to hear and see two wonderful versions of 'Rough Night' and 'Come Around'. No wonder they're in demand.
The Informations were met by storm of love when they put their first two tracks on MySpace a couple of years ago, and it hasn't ended yet. The request we get most often here at Speed of Sound is: "Is The Informations album done yet?" People - strangers - have come up to us on the street to ask this question.
So... To calm some nerves, this is to let you know that the album - that we though was done a year ago and then again half a year ago - has entered the final recording stages now. The cover is done (and beautifully!) by our British friend Arran. (Check him out here: http://plop-sensation.blogspot.com)
Last we checked The Informations were in the studio with Jannis from Choir of Young Believers and Mikkel Holtoug. Since then there has apparantly been some trouble locating the files (?) on the computer, but we're told it's really just a matter of cleaning it up now.
SO, we hope to have the album out late 2009.
All the best from the Speed of Sound gang. Here you can see a preview of the cover artwork.
THE WILLIAM BLAKES SIGN WITH LAST GANG RECORDS FOR NORTH AMERICA
Bosses - 22.09.2009
Oy, great news!
The William Blakes will go to Canada for Pop Montreal with a distribution deal already done. Last Gang Records (Chromeo, MSTRKRFT, Crystal Castles, Tiga) will release the debut album 'Wayne Coyne' by November in USA and Canada.
During Pop Montreal The William Blakes will play two jobs, one on October 1st and one on the 4th. But fear not, if you miss those gigs or simply live in - say - a nearby Canadian city, there will also be a chance to catch the band in Toronto on the 2nd and in Ottawa on the 3rd.
Besides that, we're working behind the scenes here to be able to give you some fantastic news. We'll be back when things have materialized. :)
